Cycling in Lapland

Wilderness cycling at its best

These summer cycling tours in Lapland offer a unique opportunity for exploring and getting to know one of the last wilderness areas of Europe.

Man on a bike in lapland

This area, above the Arctic Circle, is perfectly suited to cycling due to the low levels of traffic; in fact you might come across more reindeer than cars! Experience this stunning Arctic nature and scenery, with lakes, forests, villages and fells, as well as the interesting culture of the far North of Europe. Along the way we will sample hearty local food and have the opportunity to stay in various styles of accommodation, ranging from traditional hotels to stays in cabins at working reindeer and husky farms, so you will really get a feel for this yet largely unexplored area of

Europe! Additional activities, such as swimming, canoeing, Nordic walking and fishing can be arranged at many of the overnight stops we have chosen along our routes, allowing you to combine cycling with other pursuits during the week if you so wish.
Encounters with the local wildlife, such as the arctic hare, reindeer and rich birdlife will add to your enjoyment of this unspoilt wilderness, as will opportunities to sample the abundance of herbs and wild berries in the forests, including some which only grow in these remote Northern regions, such as cloudberries. Lunch breaks on most of the days will be enjoyed en route in the forest. Here an experienced wilderness guide will show you how to prepare delicious, simple meals over a traditional campfire, in areas dotted with pristine streams - clean enough to drink out of!
